Printer Not Working
Quick fixes for the most common printer issues in office environments.
Printer Shows Offline
Check that the printer is powered on and connected to the network (Ethernet or Wi-Fi). On your computer, go to Settings → Printers & Scanners, right-click the printer, and select "See what's printing." Uncheck "Use Printer Offline" if it's enabled.
Print Jobs Stuck in Queue
Open the print queue (Settings → Printers → See what's printing). Select all jobs and cancel them. If they won't cancel, restart the Print Spooler service: open Services (services.msc), find "Print Spooler," right-click → Restart.
Paper Jam
Open all accessible panels and gently remove any jammed paper. Pull in the direction of the paper path — don't pull backwards. Check the rear access panel, which is commonly missed. After clearing, close all panels and the printer should reset.
When to Call Support
If the printer repeatedly jams, prints blank pages, or shows error codes you can't clear, submit a ticket with the printer model and any displayed error codes. We can remotely diagnose most network printer issues.
